double battery life on iPhone

less gear, more brain

This is an on going list to be updated eventually with other findings.
Even if my iPhone 6s has new and original battery, it was draining so fast with the newest iOS (13.1.2 at the time of writing) that I was considering to sell the phone. But I was lucky to meet a friend with brand new iPhone 7 and fresh battery who reported that the battery doesn’t last “1 day” (not 24 hours, but one day-time, 12hrs). Then I started to think about whether isn’t this a software issue, some very wrong defaults they put in the iOS. After a day of testing I am pretty sure now it was. Indeed, you can double or triple your phone use by disabling some features, that I want to share with you here. If you know others, please let me know in the comments.
  • disable background app refresh. Maybe you really need it for some apps. But I’m sure you don’t need it for the other 100…
  • disable location.
  • disable turn screen on when raise your phone (I think this was the worst in my case)
  • disable haptic feedback or 3d touch
  • don't let any mail to push; fetch instead (30min, or 15min, or even manually)
  • reduce screen brightness
  • disable accessibility - reduce motion (turn on)
  • don't let your phone with cellular connection on unless you need it
  • put your phone in airplane mode at night

Why did Pentax named 'limited' their lenses

This is a question, not an answer
Why did they put 'limited' on those lenses? It seems such an unfortunate naming, IMHO.
What do you believe?
